The ORION distress signal complies with the requirements of SOLAS 74/96.
Designed to withstand a variety of weather conditions,
it is particularly well suited to long-range signalling.
Extremely simple to operate, ignition guaranteed by a pull wire system.
Produces a red flame for approximately 40 seconds at a power of 30,000 candelas.
Minimum projection height of 300 m.

Three red parachute rockets are required for category A and B ships.

Using:

Hold the rocket firmly in your hand, away from you with straight arms, with the red arrow pointing up. Remove the lower (green) cap;
Place your finger in the plastic ring;
Hold the flare firmly and vertically and pull the ring. The rocket will launch in 2 seconds.

Safety requirements:

Use the flare only to announce an emergency in the field. Do not point the rocket at people or objects. Do not use if rocket is damaged or broken. If you find a flare, notify the alarm center immediately (tel. 112).
